Ilha do Guajiru is probably the spot in the northeast of Brazil with the best flat water conditions for kitesurfing. At about 400 meters from the shore, a stretch of sand that extends parallel to the coast for a 7 km and it creates a huge lagoon where the water has a depth of between 50 and 200 cm, with a flat or slight chop.
The lagoon is perfect and absolutely safety.
For lovers of the waves and experts kiters there are three spots where you can get in the open sea with waves not too difficult to 1-2 meters high:
“Praia das Dunas“, “Praia do Guajiru” and “Secret Spot“.
The “Secret Spot” is located in the bottom of the sandbar where you can go out and towards the open sea with the waves, and towards the lagoon with flat water.
The wind has an average of 25 knots by late June to the end of December and blows sideshore / sideonshore right.
The average air temperature is 30 degrees and the water 28 degrees.
The spot is located about 230 km from Fortaleza and 70 km from Jericoacoara and can be reached from Fortaleza by bus, taxi or booking a transfer through our website.
